After these talks of preparation, Jonathan's attitude becoming more and more jumpy as he listens to the people supposed to help Mina talk about her transformation, and the Czarina Catherine being held hostage by the fog... Mina is probably living her own version of hell on earth right now.

Mina is a kind woman, an intelligent woman, an observing woman. Very aware of her surroundings, and the people that walk around her thanks to being a manners teacher. She reached when Lucy couldn't, she guided Jonathan towards information and inspired all of these men to swear loyalty to her alone.

And now Mina is trapped in a limbo of darkness, and coldness. Hearing, and watching how her comrades talk about how to kill her if god gives up on her. Then the hypnosis comes in a shove in the water deep deep down, and suddenly Mina is dead. Not in the body but in the mind.

Feeling dead, but her heart is still beating. Knowing what a coffin feels like, and how no light comes underground. Only hearing the sound of the waves as her breathing becomes shorter becasue what if she can afixiate while doing this? Then Mina wakes up, and the first thing she sees is Van Helsing's face deep in thought.

The report is the same as yesterday... Again, but Mina notices (of course she does) how Van Helsing "subtlely" checks her face, and mouth then talks to Seward in hushed tones. But, not the ones that ladies like her, and Lucy have practiced up to perfection to talk about someone who is present without noticing, no. It's a simple low voice without finesse, or any attempt of masking that they are talking about her, about her letargy, about her pale skin, about her spike in energy on the evenings. Even Jonathan could do a better job, Mina knows because she taught him a little.

Mina is probably more aware than anyone might think, so aware that she probably prefers sleeping than enduring. I wonder Mina thought for even a second "Do they think she is stupid now?"

You ever have an OC that absolutely fucking nobody should date, both for their own good and the ocs? Like; 'you need 1000 years therapy not the pressures of a committed romantic relationship.'

But you give them that relationship anyway, usually with a character who also probably shouldn't be in a relationship right now, because they're fictional and there for you to study like bugs under a glass. And unrealistically it works out despite being a train wreck because you're self-indulgent and want the characters to have nice things. Spicy nice things, with an occasional hint of bitter when you're in the mood. Plus a thousand AUs where it doesn't work out that don't ruin the enjoyment because 'that doesn't happen in the canon-headcanon'

Lots to say about Ahsoka but for now, I wanna talk about Thrawn. After Andor I knew this would be a problem, because it was a problem back in Rebels too.

Thrawn isn't built for these stories. During Rebels, they just put a mask of competency on him while still handing him L after L. "These losses are all part of my plan" "The rebels escaped but I meant for that to happen" ect ect. Just thwarted by the scooby doo gang. Cause let's be honest the rebels crew aren't exactly strategists.

Then in Andor, we get competence. Not brilliance mind you like Syril was still a buffoon. But the ISB came of as so threatening just because they were able to do their jobs without slipping on banana peels. We've now seen how dangerous the empire can be when they crack down and try.

But we're talking Thrawn. Whatever the ISB are? He should be playing in a different league. Competency vs sheer genius. I mean after all this entire season was about how dire things would be if Thrawn made it back to the galaxy.

And what do we get? "Oh these are acceptable losses, oh they won this round but that showed me their flaws. Oh we don't want to waste our precious resources now do we" Proceeds to throw away a few dozen troopers and a bunch of tie fighters. It's the same as it was in rebels. A mask of false threat over just another imperial.

If I'm a normal person watching this show, and have no concept of rebels, much less the heir to the empire trilogy, I can't imagine they get the sense that Thrawn is a big deal at all.

sorry to Sad Post on main BUT

not having our beloved show feels particularly crushing today. i believe i saw others spinning similar sentiments within the last couple of days, ie how it’s the anniversary of the season 2 renewal, how we would have probably had filming bts by now had season 3 continued on the expected trajectory, and how it would have been another thing to celebrate this pride month.

and like. yeah. Yeah.

idk, maybe it’s just that life is Particularly Hard right now anyway, and so subsequently this month feels emptier than usual, but this month REALLY feels emptier than usual.

i guess it’s just like…this month last year, we still had something tangible to look forward to. we were all still being delightfully horsey about it and wondering if we were going to get a tidbit/sneak peak all throughout pride.

and now it’s just…it’s crazy to think that a year ago, i never would have even CONSIDERED the idea of not having a third season the same time the following year. it was so wildly unrealistic for me at the time, something i couldn’t even begin to ponder.

and i guess that sort of highlights just how unfair the cancellation was, and still is. that it felt like we’d for sure get to see their ending, and now here we are the following pride month in the gravy basket. it’s so unfair.

to just think of the possibilities, to think about how we could have been sitting here with a renewal announcement, or even with little blurry tidbits of set pictures like we did for season 2. like, season 3’s version of the pixelated lighthouse and the party and the prince instagram captions…

it just really sucks.

WHICH, by the way, isn’t to say that i have given up every ounce of hope, because i haven’t. i’m in the camp of people who are stubbornly clinging to a whisper still, to whatever possibility of getting picked up in the future or freed from wb’s clutches or anything else there is.

but it just really sucks that we’re not getting to celebrate fully during such a celebratory month. it really sucks that we’re even HAVING to cling to little tidbits of hope like that, instead of being happily and fully cemented in our proper ending.

lrb sometimes i also think about the fact of like. sanji having to scream for chopper because zoro's literally collapsed on top of his broken leg and barely breathing. he's stuck and can't move or fight and he's trapped and can't help zoro and can you imagine, him thinking zoro dying is his fault. not just because he believes he wasn't strong enough to beat kuma, but because he can't get up and to chopper and he's wasting time. chopper and luffy find him hunched over zoro's body in a full blown panic attack where he barely recognizes anyone. he doesn't know who will help zoro or who will take him away from him. and eventually he lets go because he realizes who's in front of him—his family—and that self hatred just grows a bit more for not recognizing his crew and for costing zoro precious time. sanji who would've fought and killed with his bare hands if it meant even a small chance of keeping zoro safe. if he cannot sacrifice himself, he can at the very least use himself to save zoro's life.
